Breakfast and Project X

A few of my office mates and I resolved to pig out before starting today’s work. Brilliant idea! You know what they say about breakfast being the most important meal of the day. 😉

I am a big breakfast fan! I look forward to breakfast buffets served at hotels I stay at. So, I didn’t bother counting calories when my office mates decided to do this. The only setback is that we are going to a Filipino type of breakfast place. I prefer an American or Continental or English breakfast menu. Eggs, omelettes, bread, bacon, cereals, croissants, some meat, jam, and those stuff. Oh well.

Something Fishy, a restaurant near our office has this Midnight to Morning Breakfast Buffet which is very affordable. At 169 pesos per head, you get a menu of somewhere around 20-30 dishes. Not bad at all. And if you make an additional 60 pesos, you get their Drink All You can thing too. No alcohol here though (why did I think this? but then again, why not?). Just coffee, orange juice, lemonade, iced tea, soda and I forgot the other choices. I think I had 4 cups of coffee!

Batchoy, dumplings, french toast, scrambled eggs, bologna

Bread, pancakes, more eggs

Baked ham, daing na bangus, sardines, beef tapa, pork whatever, more eggs, and wee bit of rice so I wouldn’t feel full too soon

Final plate. Champorado, more eggs – this time an omelette, and a sugary waffle.

The Breakfast Club

Their food tastes like what you would call a home cooked meal. Nothing gourmet-y about it, but that’s fine considering we paid just 169 pesos. They have to work on keeping their food warm though, especially the bread. I love bread and pastries so it was a pain to eat cold and hard bread. There was an oven toaster available but I could still tell that the bread wasn’t fresh. Also, they could at least add cereals and pineapple jam to the menu. And, would it be asking too much if they had a make-your-omelette section? 😀

Over all, their price is reasonable for their food. Winners are the baked ham and their eggs. Losers are their bread and lack of cereals and fruits in the selection.

We were feeling full and kind of sleepy on our way back to the office. Gotta burn these calories while working! Yeah, you burn calories when you use your brain, about 1.5 calories per minute, according to a study I read.

Still, I can’t help but feel like I wanna crawl into bed and bury myself under the sheets. Solution: Listen to the Project X OST playlist! Now, I have this weird combination of feelings: Sleepy + I-Wanna-Party. Hope our Girls’ Night Out this Friday pushes through!

Here are some of the tracks that are blasting my eardrums right now:

This is perfect! I love the house party vibe plus Heads Will Roll (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) is one of my favorite songs ever.

Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi and Steve Aoki

Shiny Toy Guns – Le Disko

Okay, back to work! XOXO
